June 15-17
9 hours total

On Tuesday, June 15, I created a newsletter for my boss, which was a great experience. I had previously learned how to design a newsletter in PR publications, so I knew exactly what I was doing. I enjoyed constructing a newsletter for an actual company and not just for class. I used a lot of the skills I learned in class to complete the newsletter.

On Wednesday, June 16, I entered data into an Excel spreadsheet for the 2010 Sooner Sports Games. Specifically, I entered the data of the participants who signed up for the track and field events. I entered their name, e-mail address, postal address, birth date and the amount of money that they paid when they signed up. I enjoyed completing this task because it taught me that I must be organized when entering a large amount of data.

On Thursday, June 17, I called 50 All Sports Association Board members to keep our records updated. I made sure that we had every person's correct address and I asked for their e-mail addresses so that I can send them quarterly electronic newsletters. This task strengthened my communication skills, which is an important skill to practice.
